What do you get when a storied PNW bootmaker decides to try out three different kinds of elegant, rugged leathers from a world-renowned English tannery? Some very, very good limited-edition C.F. Stead offerings from White’s Boots, which are launching on a limited pre-order basis this Friday August 19 at noon Pacific Time.
The three leathers to choose from in this collection are all winners in our book: a Coach Crazy Cow leather, a unique distressed waxed flesh with a staggering amount of character and luster; Leaf Green Waxy Commander, which we know ages really well, and Rosewood Kudu, which puts the distinct scars and scratches of African antelope on full display.
White’s Boots is capping each leather at only 25 pairs of boots. The great news is, you get to choose from three different kinds of White’s models for your C.F. Stead pair—the 350 Cruiser, the 350 Cutter, and the cap-toed MP-Sherman. The 350 models are both crafted on the classic 55 last with unstructured toes and Vibram 430 soles, while the MP-Sherman comes on the 5050 last with a lugged half-sole. Of course, each of these boots features White’s famous handsewn stitchdown construction, which excellently complements these burly C.F. Stead leathers.
White’s Boots marketing director Braden McGlone told us the reason they decided to use these C.F. Stead leathers was not only because they related to Stead’s old-school heritage—both companies trace their history back to the 19th century—but they also wanted to offer up something new to their fashion-forward customer base. “We wanted leathers that would patina well and grow with the person wearing the boot,” McGlone added.
These limited-edition boots will each retail for $750, and they’ll go live this Friday, 12pm Pacific Time. Good luck!
