Not many other boot companies go crazy for indigo like Oak Street, but they may have outdone themselves with their latest limited-edition release.
The follow-up to last autumn’s collaboration between Oak Street and Dr. Sole features not only the return of the indigo-dyed Field Boot, but Oak Street’s Trench Boot and Trench Oxford are in the mix as well. Like the previous indigo release, these shoes are all made with a Horween Natural Chromexcel Roughout which has been hand-dipped in natural indigo dye sourced from North Carolina.
As the boots get worn in, they’ll fade in a similar fashion to a pair of raw denim jeans, showing some lighter shades of blue in areas of heavy wear. Be careful, though—like raw denim, some of this dye may rub off on anything it comes in contact with. Here, take a look:
Each model in this indigo collection is hand-lasted on Oak Street’s spacious Elston last. Other details include a 360 flat welt, tonal stitching, and antique brass eyelets. This time around, the Field Boot is equipped with the subtly aggressive Itshide Commando sole, and while Dr. Sole isn’t collaborating on this release, their Raw Cord soles make an appearance on the Trench Boot and Trench Oxford.
Hard to know how Oak Street will top this indigo release with the next one. Maybe some indigo-dyed mocs?? A man can dream…
