A fresh wave of boots and shoes have been added to Viberg’s seasonal collection, and Drop Two’s new models reiterate many of the same looks and themes as last month’s Drop One.
Once again, there are a variety of products here featuring leathers from C.F. Stead, Conceria Maryam, and Gallun Leathers, with a surprising emphasis on dark, earthy tones that honestly feel a bit purposefully incongruent with the brighter, more-vibrant colors of springtime. Meanwhile, there are fewer wedge soles this time around, but the collection is still a largely Goodyear-welted affair, with just a few Service Boots representing the stitchdown coalition.
You can find all of Viberg’s Spring/Summer 2023 offerings here, but we’ve got some highlights to share below…
Viberg 2020 Service Boot in Moose Viking Calf: $960
Viberg’s 2020 last—a last that features a tight waist and overall more-anatomical design suitable for narrow- to average-sized feet—is paired with Gallun’s newly revived Viking Calf, a dense and waxy leather that bears little resemblance to most other calfskins on the market. This ebony Moose colorway looks quite magnificent.
Viberg Rockland Blucher in Snuff Waxy Commander: $740
The 2020 last also shows up on the Rockland Blucher, seen here in a Snuff color of C.F. Stead’s Waxy Commander (a leather brimming with patina potential).
Viberg Scout Boot in Asfalto Washed Kangaroo: $800
More ‘roo boots! Maryam’s washed kangaroo leather offers a distinctive mottled look thanks to the washing process, while still retaining an incredible tensile strength. It looks quite nice in the Asfalto colorway (if you haven’t guessed already, that’s Italian for “asphalt”).
Viberg 310 Service Boot in Tobacco Phoenix: $800
C.F. Stead’s Phoenix leather is a heavily waxed cowhide that boasts significant water repellancy. It pairs quite well with Viberg’s 310 Service Boot, which offers a sprung toe and subtle logger heel.
Viberg Uplands Boot in Safari Janus Calf Suede: $800
This Uplands chukka is perhaps the most desert-boot-looking makeup yet for this still-new pattern, thanks to the Safari color of C.F. Stead’s resilient Janus Calf Suede in tandem with the natural rubber soles from Lactae Hevea.
Viberg 2030 Service Boot in Color 1060 TPR Horsebutt: $850
Keen-eyed Viberg fans may recall that they featured Maryam’s Bruciato horsebutt in last year’s spring/summer collection; Color 1060 is close to that, albeit just a shade lighter.
