If you’re an iconic PNW boot retailer like Baker’s Boots & Clothing, and you’re observing the 65th anniversary of being a family-owned business…how do you celebrate such a sizable milestone?
Well, you gotta have a t-shirt. But that’s just for starters.
To honor the legacy of Dave and Bill Baker, the current generation of the Baker clan is opening pre-orders on exclusive boots from two companies who have helped cement Baker’s Boot’s status as a go-to shop for high-quality footwear: White’s Boots and Wesco.
From Wesco, Baker’s is offering a special Mister Lou engineer boot in Wickett & Craig’s Tan Latigo ($749). Coming in at a 10 inch height, the Mister Lou features a narrower shaft than Wesco’s typical Boss engineer, plus solid nickel buckles and vintage-style triple-row stitching on the uppers. It all comes together on a stitchdown construction with Dr. Sole Supergrip half-soles. The hard-wearing veg-tan Tan Latigo leather nicely complements the Mister Lou’s swashbuckling looks.
Equally as special, there’s also a 6-inch-tall White’s 350 Cruiser in Maryam Toscanello Horsebutt. This boot, which Baker’s has dubbed the Centennial Cruiser, forgoes the style’s traditional handsewn stitchdown construction for a double-row stitchdown that offers a somewhat sleeker look in tandem with the low-profile Vibram 430 sole. While a boot of this spec would normally retail around $700, Baker’s is offering a limited edition of 50 pairs for only $550! It’s quite the deal.
Also, some great news if you’re on a budget: Baker’s is offering both of these boots with the option to pay 50% now, 50% later, so you can stretch that hit on your wallet a bit more than you’d otherwise be able to.
If that weren’t all exciting enough, Baker’s is also doing a giveaway for a free pair of boots this week! Head over to their Instagram page for details.
Happy 65th anniversary, Baker’s Boots! Check out some great family photos that were sent to us courtesy of Kyle Baker:
