The latest Shoes ‘n’ Boots of the Week is brought to you by the fine fine city of Chicago, which we are shouting out for reasons that have absolutely nothing to do with this year’s Boot Camp mega-expo being hosted there on Nov. 8th 2025. (…see you in Chicago on Nov 8 2025!!)

As for the boots? We’ve got tons of new makeups from Viberg and Alden, some excellent/interesting stuff from Division Road, a new slimmed-down Nicks engineer, and more…

Check out our previous roundups here.

[Ed Note: while we never choose anything specifically because of them, some of these recommendations contain affiliate links—the price is the same for you, but Stitchdown gets a small commission if you make a purchase. It’s essential to keeping the site alive, so we really, really appreciate it.]

Division Road x ASP - Double Fold - Clay Calf Suede

Division Road x ASP Double Fold in Clay Calf Suede: $1,025

Division Road is again teaming up with The Arch Support project—this time for a women’s chukka that combines ASP’s signature hand-stitched arch support (look where the sole climbs up the instep) with a folded wholecut upper. They come with a cork insert that can be added beneath the insole to adjust the fit, and the leather soles are left natural to match uppers available in Clay…

Division Road x ASP - Double Fold - Sand Calf Suede

Division Road x ASP Double Fold in Sand Calf Suede: $1,025

…or Sand calf suede, both from C.F. Stead.

Divison Road x Trickers - Churchill Boot - Dark Forest ChromexcelDivision Road x Trickers Churchill Boot in Dark Forest Chromexcel: $735

They’ve also got two new models from Tricker’s: a clean cap-toe boot clicked from Dark Forest Chromexcel…

Division Road x Trickers - Daniel Tramping Shoe - Navy Chromexcel

Division Road x Trickers Daniel Tramping Shoe in Navy Chromexcel: $695

…and the four-eyelet Daniel Derby in Navy Chromexcel. Both models are built on 360˚ storm welts and Ridgeway soles, and both use the 4497s Last.

Viberg 2030 Service Boot BCT - Black Waxed Flesh

Viberg Service Boot 2030 BCT in Black Waxed Flesh: $1,016

Waxed flesh might not be the first leather you’d think of for a BCT 2030—in theory fairly dressy for a Service Boot—but the all-black look and shiny, textured surface make for a boot that just looks… serious, with a little extra detail from the brogueing. They ship with nine fine eyelets and use Ridgeway outsoles with a double row stitchdown construction.

Viberg - Scout Boot - Black Waxed Flesh

Viberg Scout Boot in Black Waxed Flesh: $1,040

They’ve also got a softer-soled take on the same concept, in the form of a stitchdown scout boot built on a black Vibram Evaflex wedge…

Viberg - 145 Oxford - Black Waxed Flesh

Viberg 145 Oxford in Black Waxed Flesh: $910

…and last but certainly not least, a 145 Oxford on the 1035 last, with the same beefy Evaflex sole.

Viberg - Service Boot 2030 - Rare Wine Chamois

Viberg Service Boot 2030 BCT in Rare Wine Chamois: $1,029

Canada’s Gerhard got their hands on some Chamois 2030s and they’re pretty terrific. The Rare Wine in particular is both a bit playful and incredibly deep and dramatic without being overstated, and they’re a stitchdown boot on Ridgeway outsoles in a well loved Horween tannage. Not much more needs to be said.

Viberg - Service Boot 2030 BCT - Chocolate Chamois

Viberg Service Boot 2030 BCT in Chocolate Chamois: $1,029

On the other hand, the chocolate chamois is a bit more toned down and quite a bit more desaturated, but otherwise retains the brogued cap toe, double row stitchdown, and Ridgeway outsole.

Withered Fig x Viberg - Service Boot - Chocolate Chamois Roughout

Viberg Service Boot 310 in Chocolate Chamois Roughout: $1,040

Part of the glory of the 310 is that a toe with that much spring provides a lot of interesting geometry to build up patina around. On reverse chamois like this, that means the nap will get rougher and scruffier around wear points, while the high oil content allows other areas to smooth and even burnish—a bit like a toned down anti-waxed flesh. Constructed with double row stitchdown on Dainite soles.

Rose Anvil x Nicks - ND1 - Waxed Flesh and 1964

Rose Anvil x Nicks ND1 Boot in Brown Waxed Flesh: $650 (Made to Order)

Short for n-d-structable, the ND1 was the first iteration of Rose Anvil’s now five-year-strong collaboration with Spokane’s Nicks Boots. Built with a (contrasting) lineman’s patch and a true cap toe on a V100 lug sole, the waxed flesh on the upper and the 1964 of the patch will get closer and closer in color as they wear in. In addition to the ND1, Nicks will also be reissuing the ND2, ND3, and ND4 to celebrate the anniversary of the ongoing collab, now five years running.

Nicks x Parkhurst - Brakeman

Nicks x Parkhurst Brakeman: $689 (Made to Order)

Nicks has been on a tear the last few months, meaningfully expanding their offerings with a small handful of new models. One of them is the Brakeman, a slimmed down engineer that pairs Parkhurst’s 602 last with Nicks’ double row stitchdown construction and a huge variety of options. Compared to the 55 last (and its variants), the 602 has less volume, a lower instep, and a lower profile toe with a round-almond shape. The full range of standard Nicks leather and sole options are available, and you can also get these with supergrip halfsoles from Dr. Sole.

Russell Moccasin - Safari - Sage Chamois

Russell Moccasin Safari Classic Build: $650 (Made to Order)

High quality boots tend to be heavy, and it’s easy to point to weight as a tangible (if sometimes misleading) sign of quality—but what do you do in the summer? Very few boots that fall into the ‘heritage’ category are optimized for it, but Russell makes one of the best. A 7″ boot with canvas quarter panels for ventilation, the Safari is built without a double vamp moccasin construction on a low but luggy Vibram 360 outsole. Lead times for double vamp footwear at Russell are currently 12-16 weeks.

Addict Boots - AB-01H-ST Engineer - Brown Horseide

Addict Boots AB-01H-ST Engineer in Brown Horsehide: $1,180

The Japanese brand Addict Clothes might be most notable for the absolute attentiveness of their jacket lineup, a broad range featuring vintage details like rear body pleats (in leather!) and short-body models—they literally wrote the book on vintage leather jackets. But this is Stitchdown, and we’re most interested in the boots, which certainly hold their own. DC4 Berlin is now stocking their standard engineer boot model, on the round (and quite sprung) toed ST last and constructed with a 270˚ flat welt on the Vibram #269 Westerner outsole. Available in Brown…

Brother Bridge - Henry - Burgundy Loano Bullhide

Brother Bridge “The Henry” In Loano Burgundy Bullhide: $734

Run by the former director of Rolling Dub Trio’s (The) Boots Factory, Brother Bridge makes light, flexible, welted footwear using leathers from around the world. Burg & Schild is currently stocking two lace-to-toe boots in pit-tanned Japanese veg-tan, and attached directly the the Itshide commando soles by a 360˚ flat welt, forgoing a midsole altogether. Available in burgundy…

Brother Bridge “The Henry” In Loano Black Bullhide: $734

…and black.

We also made a visit to Brother Bridge as well!

Brogue x Alden - 1940 Service Shoe - Black Calf

Brogue x Alden 1940 Service Shoe in Black Calf: $720

The navy derby is one of those models that seems permanently entrenched in our collective shoe imagination, and this makeup from Brogue nails a lot of the things that make the best takes on it so compelling: wide but shallow toebox, fitted waist and heel. Uniform black calf uppers sit atop a 270˚ flat welt and oiled double leather soles.

Trickers - Burton Country Shoe - Burgundy Old EnglandTricker’s Bourton Country Shoe in Burgundy Old England: $745

Tricker’s Archive Editions dip into their extensive backstock of leathers, ranging from pretty out there (fire truck brogues) to undeniably solid. Old England is a lightly tumbled calfskin with an application of two tone pigment that makes for a rich, purply burgundy color. Beyond the leather, we’ve got a ton of brogueing (of course), a 360˚ storm welt on a Dainite sole—ready to tromp their way across the countryside on the feet of a tweed-clad Englishman.

Mildbend Supply x Alden - Cap Toe Boots - Horween Arabic Lux

Mildbend Supply x Alden Cap Toe Boots in Horween Arabica Lux: $754

A thick cowhide tanned in the pits using the same formula as cordovan (albeit not for nearly as long), Horween Arabica Lux is perhaps the most underrated of the staple Alden leathers, and it just made an appearance on Mildbend’s new cap-toe boots. They use commando outsoles and a 360˚ split reverse welt on the Trubalance last.

Brick + Mortar x Alden - Ricky Indy - Lead Grey Suede

Brick + Mortar Seattle x Alden “Ricky” Indy in Lead Grey Suede: $735

Brick + Mortar keeps up a steady supply of wedge sole Indies—it’s kind of their thing at this point. This week we them introduce the “Ricky”, a Trubalance-last boot that uses a 360˚ split welt, wedge soles, and blue gray uppers…

Brick + Mortar x Alden - Olympic Indy Boot - Brown Chromexecel

Brick + Mortar Seattle x Alden “Olympic” Indy in Brown Chromexcel: $735

…alongside a restock of the “Olympic”, specced out nearly identically, but with brown Chromexcel uppers and a speed hook/eyelet combo instead of just eyelets.

Oak Street Bootmakers - Cap-Toe Field Boot - Cinnamon Waxed Flesh

Oak Street Bootmakers Cap-Toe Field Boot in Cinnamon Waxed Flesh: $512

The latest of Oak Street’s limited editions is a cap-toe Field Boot in cinnamon waxed flesh and Dainite outsoles, held together by a 270˚ flat welt. We’ve seen markedly less waxed flesh than usual lately, and we’re glad to see Oak Street taking it up.

Oak Street Bootmakers - Camp Boot - Black Chromexcel

Oak Street Bootmakers Camp Boot in Black Chromexcel: $448

Blacking out a traditional form like the guide boot totally scrambles your stylistic radar—the end product can end up showing you an old pattern in a new light or just looking a bit confused. Oak Street’s new Camp Boot sits solidly in the latter category, straddling the line between Maine moccasin and the newer, low heeled style of combat boots, to which it bears a passing resemblance. The materials and construction though are just as steady as ever, with a traditional handsewn build and Black Chromexcel uppers on a Vibram Christy outsole.

Crown Northampton - Harlestone Derby - Western Floral Bourbon Shell

Crown Northampton Harlestone Derby in Western Floral Bourbon Shell Cordovan: $853

Crown Northampton’s just opened up orders on a new run of 20 Harlestone hand-stitched sneakers (quite literally some of the best-made in the world) in bourbon shell cordovan, embossed with a floral pattern Horween developed in the 1970s. The dense structure of cordovan takes holds an impressively sharp pattern (just compare it to this CXL version), and makes for a very unique shoe, albeit one that won’t be up everyone’s stylistic alley.
